It seems to me that there is still some confusion about my claification statement. Pls see the message left by Justin Mitchell.

In fact, I have not written anything about the war on Lebanon for Hong Kong Economic Journal. It was the article on Gaza trip that I contributed to Hong Kong Economic Journal 2 years ago had run me into trouble with the Israeli Consulate. That Gaza piece was in fact my eye witness account on the ground. It was more like a news report carrying facts rather than an expression of personal opinion. Well, it was inevitable to reflect my perception. But believe me, I tried to be objective. However, what does objectivity mean?

The most recent piece on Lebanon was written in my column in Hong Kong Economic Times. Of course, a column style allows me to write in a more personal way. I am outraged at such a heavy hand of Israel because I have witnessed what the war is all about, and its impact on human life/mind and society at large. I also do not want to see the casualties on the Israeli side. I have Israeli friends there. Well, even do not have friends there, how can we tolerate innocent people on both sides suffer simply for the agression of the politicans ( terrorists? ) who want to realise their ambition/hidden agenda in the region?

Justin questions me why I still have time to repsond to this incident while I have been violently mugged in Nicaragua. In most places in Central Amercia, people usually do not go out in the dark. I dare not to be out at night too unless with friends, and the best with private car. So I usually go back to the hotel before the dark and can have time to do internet at night.

Further, comparing with how people suffer in the Middle East, I think I should put my personal back luck aside and get my attention back to what I ought to do. Of course, the robbery still haunts me. But it has happened to other travelers too. We have to bear the risk when travelling in Central America.
