觀眾在哪裏？
香港的大學校園，可以是令人沮喪的地方。如果你不是名人，卻要在校園搞甚麼活動，那請不要存有幻想；假若你希望在年輕人圈子裏分享你認為美好的東西，我恐怕，很大可能你會失望。
我相信，不止我一個人，凡是在校園有過慘痛經驗的人，都會明白我的洞見。
大學校園是個非常熱鬧的地方，永遠都人來人往，嘻嘻哈哈，但也是冷漠的地方，處處是無形的高牆；每天，好像有很多事情發生，可是你又說不出一個所以然來。
走進校園，各式各樣的活動宣傳海報在牆上貼得密密麻麻，有些不慎掉到地上，隨風飄盪，同學們不為意地踐踏其上，毫無感覺，懶給一個眼神。
校內的甚麼通識教育、人文素質教育，學生事務處等等部門依然忙得透不過氣來，活動排山倒海，壓得大家都無法承受，然後，當只有小貓三、四隻出席，你才驀然回首，自問花了如此多力氣，卻為誰忙碌？
不過，活動還是要繼續搞下去，但怎樣在川流不息的學生群裏能令他們停下腳步，望一望，聽一聽……
要知道，校園現在已變成商業世界的縮影，一切講成本效益，你不能辦太多叫好不叫座的事情，愈叫座愈有經費，愈有經費就愈有身價，愈有身價就愈神氣。
因此，大家都要保證出席率，為了出席率，大家搶請名人、明星、歌星。
君不見年前周星馳給兩名大教授吹捧成為儼如大哲學家一樣，一頂似是而非的「後現代」大光環拋過去，嚇得周星馳本人也不知道是甚麼東東，他那句「如果愛有時限，那將是五十萬年」已被奉為經典。最重要的是，星爺一來，校園即擠得水洩不通，學生不是為「後現代」而來，他們只是想一睹偶像風采。知情者心中有數，不要緊，大學的辦學哲學已經跟以前不一樣了。

臨近大學畢業，我也覺得香港的大學令人失望
我不知應該怎樣說，只是覺得這裡無法讓人感到應有的神聖感。做學問的，好像都有點得過且過。

With appropriate promotion, I think people will discover good things sooner or later, just like your books.
In the stance of school, if resources can be obtained too easily, it only gives incentive to people to waste them. And the way they can judge whether students will benefit from it is the attendance. (I don't object that it's too simplistic and can be improved potentially.)
So, it seems working harder and finding more innovative ways to hit people's mind is the only way out.

記得幾年前剛上大學
參加的第一個音樂活動..是台灣的盲人搖滾樂團
"蕭煌琦 與 全方位樂團"
的校園巡迴表演
當時的場地是只能容納一百人的小演講廳
音樂風氣不盛的校園
到場的只有二十幾位同學..
我好奇的是..
他們辛苦辦免費表演,
全盲的他們不知道看不看得到觀眾人數
好奇不久...隨即被他們的音樂內容所感動
堅毅而快樂的玩音樂..
當著二十幾位觀眾唱出.."你是我的眼..讓我看見 世界就在我眼前"
後來參加了社團 玩起音樂
當了負責人 也辦活動 經過幾次經驗
終於拉了幾百位同學進禮堂參加音樂活動
翠蓉小姐請別氣餒
您的努力一定打動了不少人
也請繼續用您的專業發揮"事實"的力量

My name is Sara Lee, a 21 yrs college student from Tainan, Taiwan. I don't know you but I truly love your book 中東現場. For so many times, I cried over your touching lines... In 2004, I quit my study and told my parents that I was leaving for the Middle East for some "research". They coulnd't understand what would attract me in there. I was so shocked while visiting the west banks (the Gaza stripe was closed at that time, what a shame!) and I just realised that..."we all got screwed up! we all got cheated by the Yankees and CNN!!!"
I ended up staying in there for 6 months.
I bought your 中東現場 when it's freshly launched and believe it I have repeated reading it more than 4 times. And I ordered more than 5 books from www.books.com.tw and I sort of "forced" my friends to read it!!!!!
I so much love your book. I am more than glad that someone is writing something for the dark and ugly corners of the world.
I was brought up in a very open-minded Christain family. I knew nothing about Islamic world which was simply too far beyond me, let alone the contridictory and fighting btn the Jews and the Palestan. I saw something until I was there in 2004 and I finally figured something when I first read your book in 2006....
Sorry for such a lenghty message. My main purpose is to tell you that I really likeyour books and analyse. Please! Help us see more things and tell the world more truths about the world out there.

校園生活嘛, 怎麼樣的生活環境, 就有怎麼樣的校園...我們的生活環境是怎樣的呢?...也不是一樣要求'多快好省'嗎? 誰會停下來,想一想?!
不過...究竟是否可以倒過來, 從校園開始, 影響我們的環境呢?...還是需要'從心開始'?

香港的大學校園都變得商業化，的確是因為環境的影響..
香港的教育制度常被恨批不設實際，以致灌入了現實的元素，點樣求職、搵多d錢...這個不是問題...問題在於令學生都忽略了追求知識的重要，而那些知識卻才是維持和推動這個生態和人類存在和進步
我是中大的學生，讀的是商科，這麼年學到的似乎不外於如何在商業社會立足，其實學的知識都太流於表面。可是這科吹水科卻受到大部分大學生、中學生，家長其至係政府的高度重視。那些科學、哲學、地理的科目卻被冷落了。我認識幾位修讀物理及心理學的高材生，他們都立志要向做研究事業，並且決不留在香港，因為否則只會是個死胡同。
身為一個商科的學生，應當同意香港現時發展的取向，在本身，當然覺得能賺好多錢是人生的成功；再者全球化會補充各地方的不足所需，但有時仍會疑問不知道香港現在全然向著金融商業的發展是否最正確，定還是依然要在其他方面取個平衡...??
